Vegetarian Recipes - Chutney Recipes

Ingredients for Tomato Chutney:

  • Tomato (Tamatar) - 1/2 Kg
  • Garlic (Lehsun) - 10 cloves
  • Urad dal  - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds (Sarson) - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder (Haldi) - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder (Lal mirch) - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder (Dhaniya patte) - 2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 4 tablespoon
  • Asafoetida (Hing) - 2 pinches
  • Salt to taste

Method for Tomato Chutney:

  • Cut the tomatoes into cubes and grind them to a fine juicy paste.
  • Grind the garlic to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, asafoetida, turmeric powder and urad dal.
  • Add the garlic paste and fry for a few seconds.
  • Pour the tomato juice into the pan and add the chilli powder and salt to taste.
  • Keep stirring the contents till all the water is evaporated .
  • Let it cool and pour in a clean jar and cork tightly.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
  • Enjoy Tomato Chutney after 2- days.
