Ingredients for Coconut Chutney:

  • Coconut - 1 cup
  • Red Chillies - 2 no's
  • Mustard seeds  - 1 teaspoon
  • Urad dal - 2 teaspoon
  • Tamarind -  1 piece
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Asofoetida - A pinch
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Method for Coconut Chutney:

  • Grate the Coconut.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add Half of urad dal and chillies.
  • Fry for a minute and let it cool completely .
  • Add the tamarind, sugar, asofoetida and coconut .
  • Grind it to a fine paste .
  • Seasoning it with the remaining urad dal and mustard seeds in oil.
  • Enjoy with rice, dosa or idli.
