Dal Recipes

Ingredients for Dal Fry:
- Moong dal - 3/4 cup
- Masoor dal - 1/4 cup
- Onion - 1 nos. chopped
- Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon each
- Tomato - 2 no's. chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
- Pure Ghee/Butter - 2tablespoon
- Salt To taste
Method for Dal Fry:
- Wash both the dals together and boil with salt and turmeric powder till the dal softs.
- Heat Ghee/Butter in a pan , add cumin seeds , when cumin changes color add chopped onion.
- Cook till onions are light golden brown,add red chili powder and ginger garlic paste. Sauté well.
- Add tomatoes and reduce heat. Cover and cook till done.
- Add boiled dals and salt, cook uncovered ,bring to required consistency .
- Add Ghee/Butter and Garam Masala Powder to the dal before serving .
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Enjoy Dal Fry with White rice or chapaties.
