Ingredients for Sonth Chutney:
- Tamarind (Imli) - 1/2 cup
- Jaggery (Gud) - 1/2 cup crushed
- White rock salt (Sendha namak) - 2 teaspoon
- Black Rock Salt (Kala namak) - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder (Saunth) - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper powder(Kali mirch) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder (Lal mirch) - 1/4 teaspoon
Method for Sonth Chutney:
- Make tamarind pulp by soaking it in water till for 2 hours, mash and strain.
- Add the white rock salt,black rock salt,ginger powder,black pepper powder,red chilli powder and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat, till the chutney is thick.
- Let it cool and refrigerate.
- Enjoy Sonth Chutney with hot pakora's/samosas and other indian snackes.
