Ingredients for Akki Rotti (rice roti):

  • Rice flour (Chawal ka atta) - 1/2 KG
  • Onions (Piyaz) - 2 no's chopped
  • Green Chillies (Hari mirch) - 10 no's chopped
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 2 teaspoon
  • Coconut (Nariyal) - 1 tablespoon grated
  • Corriander leaves (Hara dhaniya) - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to shallow fry the rotis

Method for Akki Rotti (rice roti):

  • Mix all ingredients except oil with water, dough should be softer than chapathi dough.
  • Have two tavas  and keep a small bowl filled with clean water to wet ur hands.
  • Dip ur hands in the water each time and take a ball of the dough, the size of the dough should
  • be double that we take for a phulka.
  • Place the dough on the tawa and pat gently with the hands till flat and thin.
  • Make a hole in the centre, put a little oil  in the centre and rest around the roti.
  • Cover and cook, remove cover, cook the other side of the rotti without cover till crisp.
  • Keep another rotti ready in another tawa and put that on the stove, once a rotti is done, hold the tawa under the tap water to cool and again pat another.
  • Enjoy hot Akki Rotti (rice roti) with ghee or butter and chutney.
