Ingredients for Kalakand:
- Milk (Doodh) - 2 litres
- Sugar (Chini) - 3/4 cup
- Pistachios (Pista) - 2 tablespoon chopped
- Almonds(Badam) - 2 tablespoon chopped
- Silver foil (Chandi ki warak) - 12"x12" piece
- Citric acid dissolved in 1/2 cup water - 1/2 teaspooon
Method for Kalakand:
- Boil half the milk and add the citric solution as it comes to boil, turn off gas, stirr gently.
- When the paneer seperates sieve through muslin cloth, pressing out excess water.
- Put the remaining milk in a heavy pan and boil to half, add the paneer and boil till the mixture thickens, stirring continuously.
- Add the sugar and continue to cook, stirring all the while till softly thickens in a lump.
- Pour mix into a greased tray,and sprinkle the chopped nuts and cut into 1"x1" pieces.
