Theplas
Ingredients for Theplas:
  • Wheat flour (Atta) - 1 cup
  • Gram flour (Besan) - 1/4 cup
  • Fenugreek leaves (methi ) - 1/2 cup chopped.
  • Red chilli powder (Lal mirch) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder (Haldi) - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/6 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds (Til) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 2 teaspoon
  • oil for shallow frying
  • salt to taste
Method for Theplas:
  • Mix all ingredients except oil.
  • Use a little water and knead a soft dough .
  • Divide dough into 8 balls, roll each into a 5" round.
  • Heat tawa(griddle), roast and drizzle oil, to shallow fry.
  • Repeat for other side and repeat for remaining dough.
  • Enjoy hot Theplaas (Theplas) with chunda or other pickle or curds.
