Ingredients for Theplas:
- Wheat flour (Atta) - 1 cup
- Gram flour (Besan) - 1/4 cup
- Fenugreek leaves (methi ) - 1/2 cup chopped.
- Red chilli powder (Lal mirch) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder (Haldi) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/6 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds (Til) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 teaspoon
- oil for shallow frying
- salt to taste
Method for Theplas:
- Mix all ingredients except oil.
- Use a little water and knead a soft dough .
- Divide dough into 8 balls, roll each into a 5" round.
- Heat tawa(griddle), roast and drizzle oil, to shallow fry.
- Repeat for other side and repeat for remaining dough.
- Enjoy hot Theplaas (Theplas) with chunda or other pickle or curds.
