Ingredients for Bhakri (Jowar roti):
- Sorghum flour (Jowar ka atta) - 1/2 Kg
- Water (Pani) - As required (warm)
- Salt (Namak) - 1/2 teaspoon
Method for Bhakri (Jowar roti):
- Mix jowar flour, salt and warm water and knead to make a soft dough.
- Divide this dough into 12 parts and make round balls of each part.
- On a flat surface, sprinkle little jowar flour and pat the ball with your palm.
- Keep flattening the ball in circular motion to make round shape like roti.
- Heat a tawa (griddle), remove bhakri from flat surface and put it on tawa.
- Now with the help of wet cloth, spread water on the bhakri, immediately turn on the bhakri to cook the other side.
- Now remove from griddle and hold it on the direct flame with the help of spatula and press a bit to get puffed.
- Roast on both sides till you get small black spots.
- Enjoy hot and puffed Bhakri (Jowar roti) with any gujarati vegetable preparations.
