Ingredients for Chakli:
- Rice flour (Chawal ka atta) - 1 cup
- Moong dal (Split moong) - 1/4 cup
- Turmeric (Haldi) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Carom seeds (ajwain) - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chili powder (Lal mirch) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil for frying
- salt to taste
Method for Chakli:
- Pressure cook the moong dal to a paste like consistency.
- Mix well rice flour, moong dal paste, turmeric, salt, chili powder, carom seeds.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil and add this hot oil to the rice flour mixture.
- Add water and knead it well with hands to make a stiff dough.
- Take a lemon size dough and place it in a chakli mould with star nozzle.
- Heat oil, gently make a spiral with chakli mould and deep fry to a golden brown.
- Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
- Enjoy Chakli as a snackes with tea, coffee or juice.
