Ingredients for Rawa Kichadi:
- Rawa (Suji) - 1 cup
- Asafoetida (Hing) - A pinch
- Mustard seeds (Sarson) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
- Chana dal - 1 teaspoon\
- Curry leaves - A few
- Green Beans - 1/4 cup chopped
- Carrot (Gajar) - 1/4 cup chopped
- Green peas (Hari matar) - 1/4 cup Boiled
- Onion (Piyaz) - 1 no's chopped
- Green chillies (Hari mirch) - 2 no's chopped
- Oil - 2 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Method for Rawa Kichadi:
- Roast rawa lightly without oil to make it crisp and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a fry pan and add mustard seeds, let them splatter, then add urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves and green chilli and roast lightly.
- Add a pinch of asafoetida, then add onions and fry until they turn colorless.
- Now add the vegetables, salt and fry them until they turn soft , add the red chillie powder.
- Now add 3 cups of water and when it begins to boil add rawa and keep stirring till all the water is absorbed and it becomes thick.
- Enjoy hot Rawa (Suji) khichadi or khichri with coconut chutney or green chutney.
