Ingredients for Palak Kofta Curry:
- Potatoes (Aloo) - 1/4 kg
- Spinach (Palak) - 1/2 Kg
- Milk (Doodh) - 2 cups
- Onion (Piyaz) - 1 no's Chopped
- Coriander leaves (Dhaniya) - A bunch Chopped
- Bread - 2 slices
- Green Chillies (Hari mirch) - 4 no's Chopped
- Ginger (Adrak) - 1 inch piece Chopped
- Red chilli powder (Lal mirch) - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder (Haldi) - 1 teaspoon
- Mango powder (Amchoor) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Method for Palak Kofta Curry:
- Wash spinach in running water and pressure cook 1/2 of the spinach till 2-3 whistles.
- Boil potatoes in another pressure cooker.Drain water from spinach and grind to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add half of chopped onion and ginger and fry for a few minutes.
- Add half of the ground spinach, milk, half of garam masala powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt .
- Mix well and bring to boil then lower the heat flame and allow the gravey to thicken.
- Peel and mash the boiled potatoes.
- Soak bread in water for 10 minutes, drain and keep aside.
- Add remaining onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, garam masala, amchoor and salt .
- Add rest of Spinach (Chopped) and bread, mix it well.
- Divide into equal portions and deep fry koftas in hot oil till golden brown in color.
- Add koftas to hot palak gravy just before serving.
- Enjoy hot Palak Kofta Curry with Naan, Roties, or any other kind of indian bread.
