Ingredients for Idli:
- Rice - 2 cup
- Urad Daal without skin - 1 cup
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Baking Soda - A pinch
- Oil - 3 tablespoon
Method for Idli:
- Pick, wash and soak the daal and rice seperately overnight .
- Grind rice coarsely in a blender,whereas drind the daal into a smooth and forthy paste.
- Now mix the grinded rice and daal together into a batter, add salt and keep aside in warm place 8 hours for fermentation.
- Grease the cups of idle holder well with the oil and fill each with batter.
- Steam cook idlis on medium flame for about 10 minutes or until done.
- Enjoy Idli with sambhar or coconut chutney.
