Ingredients for Kheer:
- Rice - 1/4 cup(Long grain )
- Milk - 1 litre
- Cardamom - 3 no's crushed
- Almond - 2 tablespoon
- Cashewnuts - 2 tablespoon
- Raisin - 1 tablespoon
- Pistachios - 1 tablespoon
- Saffron - A few strands
- Sugar - 1 cup
Method for Kheer:
- Put the rice, milk and cardamom in a pan, bring to boil and simmer gently until the rice is soft and the grains are starting to break up.
- Add chopped cashewnuts, almonds,pistachios,saffron (soaked in 1 teaspoon of milk)and raisins and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved and remove from the heat.
- Enjoy Kheer hot or chilled as desired.
Note:
- Condensed milk can also be used to enhance the taste of Kheer.
