Fish Kofta Curry
Ingredients for Fish Kofta Curry:
  • White fleshed fish - 1 kg
  • Tomatoes - 4 no's
  • Onion - 1 no's
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Green chillies - 6 no's
  • Cloves - 2 no's
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Cardamom - 2 pods
  • Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Bread  - 1 slice
  • Mint leaves - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves - A bunch
  • Oil - 6 tablespoon
  • Salt To Taste

Method for Fish Kofta Curry:

  • Rinse the fish under running water boil it and remove the bones nicely.
  • Mince the onion, 3 green chilies, mint, coriander leaves and blend with the fish along with bread, salt and garam masala powder.
  • Knead to a smooth mixture, form into small balls and deep fry to a golden brown color.
  • Grind together the remaining spices to a fine powder.
  • Grind onion, ginger and garlic to a paste and fry the paste to a golden brown color.
  • Put in spices and fry for a couple of seconds, then put in tomatoes and curd.
  • Cook till the ghee starts to separate.
  • Add 2 cups of water, mix nicely and cook over a low fire till all the liquid dries.
  • Mash to a smooth paste with wooden spoon and then pour in 1 more cups of water.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
  • Put in the fish balls and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  • Garnish fish kofta curry with coriander leaves.
  • Enjoy Fish Kofta Curry with white rice.
