Aloo Matar
Ingredients for Aloo Matar: 

  • Oil - 3  tablespoons
  • Onion chopped -1
  • Ginger paste - tablespoons
  • Garlic paste - 1tablespoons
  • Bay leaves - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 2
  • Cloves - 2
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoons
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoons
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoons
  • Tomatoes - 2 Big
  • Potatoes cubed - 2 Big
  • Green peas - 1 Cup
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/2 Cup
  • Salt to taste

Method for Aloo Matar:

  • Heat oil and fry onion & ginger-garlic paste till golden.
  • Add cloves, bay leaves & cinnamon. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add garam masala, chili powder, turmeric, coriander, tomatoes and salt.
  • Add potatoes & peas. Pour in water and bring to a boil.
  • Cook , coverd  and simmer gently for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are done.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Enjoy Aloo Matar with chapaties or poories.
