Aloo Methi
Ingredients for Aloo Methi:

  • Methi leaves (fenugreek) - 1/2 Kg
  • potatoes  - 1/2 Kg
  • cumin seeds - 1  teaspoon
  • coriander powder - 1  teaspoon
  • Ginger finely chopped
  • Garlic finely chopped
  • Green chillies finely chopped
  • Asafoetida powders - A pinch
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2   teaspoon
  • Oil - 3   tablespoons
  • salt to taste

Method for Aloo Methi:

  • Wash the Methi leaves thoroughly  and chop them fine.
  • Sprinkle some salt over them and keep aside for about half an hour.
  • Heat the oil in a  pan on medium level and lightly fry all the spices for a minute.
  • Add the potato cubes, Methi leaves and salt .
  • Mix well and cook covered on low level till the potatoes are tender and all the water from the Methi leaves has dried.
