Paneer Shimlamirch
Ingredients for Paneer Shimla mirch (Cottage-Cheese Capsicum):
  • Paneer (cottage cheese) - 1/4 Kg 
  • Shimla Mirch ( Capsicum) - 2 no's
  • Oil/Butter - 2 tablespoon
  • Onion - 2 Sliced
  • Tomatoes - 2 Chopped
  • Tomatoes puree - 2 tablespoon
  • Yoghurt  - 2 tablespoon
  • Ginger-Garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • Green chillies - 2  Chopped
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - A bunch

Method for Paneer Shimla mirch (Cottage-Cheese Capsicum):

  • Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add  cumin seeds and let them splatter.
  • Add chopped green chillies and sliced onions, fry till onions start to brown, then add ginger-garlic paste.
  • Add tomatoes, cook till tomatoes tenderize and start to pulp.
  • Remove from the fire, add the yogurt, mix well and  put back on the fire.
  • Add the coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and cook till the spices blend in.
  • Add tomato puree and salt and cook for a few minutes till sauce thickens.
  • Add the Shimla Mirch (Capsicum) and cook for 5 minutes, then add paneer cubes and cook for another 5 minutes .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves .
  • Enjoy Paneer Shimlamirch (Cottage-Cheese Capsicum) with Naan, Rice or Roti.
