Rice Recipes

Ingredients for Jeera Pulao:
- Basmati rice - 1 cup
- Water -3 cups
- Oil/Ghee/Butter - 2 tablespoon
- Onion - 1 no. chopped
- Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - A bunch
- Salt to taste
Method for Jeera Pulao:
- Wash the basmati rice well and drain in colander for at least 30 minutes.
- Boil the rice in 3 cups of water with salt.
- Once the rice is almost cooked ,remove from fire and drain the water by straining the rice through a colander and keep aside.
- Heat oil/ghee/butter in a pan till hot and onions.
- Fry oinions till light brown and then add the cumin seeds.
- The seeds will splutter and sizzle to show they are done.
- Now add the rice and stir well.
- Still add 1/2 a cup of water to the rice and cover.
- Simmer till all the water dries up.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Enjoy hot Jeera Pulao with any vegetable curry.
