Ingredients for Ghiya Raita:
- Ghiya (bottle gourd) - 1/4 Kg
- Curd (yogurt) - 1/2 Kg
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1/4 teasoppn
- Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Method for Ghiya Raita:
- Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds nad let them splutter.
- Add the grated Ghiya and saute till well mixed.
- Lower the heat and cook till tender.
- Remove from heat and leave to cool.
- Beat the yogurt till smooth, and add a little water if required.
- Add the salt, black pepper, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder and the coriander leaves to the yogurt and mix well. Mix in the ghiya too.
- Garnish with the roasted and crushed cumin seeds and the coriander leaves.
- Chill Ghiya Raita and enjoy with Rice or Chapaties.
